Oborevwori Calls for Prayer, Unity As ODM Celebrates 26 Years

Governor Highlights Power of Prayer in Governance
DELTA State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged Nigerians to embrace prayer, unity and collective responsibility as essential pillars for national stability and sustainable development.
The governor made the call on Friday while receiving the Founder of Manner Prayer Mountain Ministry Worldwide and author of Our Daily Manna, Chris Kwakpovwe, during a courtesy visit.
Describing leadership as divinely ordained, Oborevwori stressed that those in authority require not only public support but also sustained prayers from citizens. He noted that governance flourishes when leaders are guided by divine wisdom and backed by the goodwill of the people.
“Leadership thrives best when supported with prayers and goodwill,” the governor said, adding that when leaders succeed, society as a whole benefits.
He also urged Nigerians to continue praying for leaders at all levels, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing that national progress is strengthened through spiritual and civic cooperation.
Unity as a Foundation for Progress
Governor Oborevwori warned that development cannot flourish in a climate of division. According to him, unity remains indispensable for peace, economic growth and institutional stability.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance, he pledged continuous engagement with communities across Delta State to assess their needs and implement policies that deliver tangible results.
“As a government, our focus remains faithful service and meaningful development,” he stated, assuring residents that sustained collaboration between government and citizens would keep the state on a progressive path.
ODM’s Journey of Faith and Consistency
Earlier, Dr. Kwakpovwe reflected on the 26-year journey of Our Daily Manna (ODM), describing it as a divine assignment that began modestly and expanded through consistency, sacrifice and grace.
Accompanied by his wife and clergy members, he said it is a sacred duty for believers to pray for leaders, citing biblical injunctions that mandate intercession for those in authority to receive wisdom and sound judgment.
He expressed appreciation for Governor Oborevwori’s leadership style, describing him as people-centred and impactful. Dr. Kwakpovwe pledged to continually uphold the governor in prayer, affirming his commitment to supporting leaders through spiritual guidance.
The visit marked both a celebration of ODM’s milestone and a renewed call for unity and prayer in the service of national development.
