NVBF Rolls Out 12-Team Line-Up For Super Cup

THE Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has announced the 12 clubs that will take part in the 2025 NVBF Super Cup for men and women, scheduled to be staged in Abuja from 30 January to 8 February 2026.
The competition will be held at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, and will bring together leading clubs from the Premier and Division I categories.
In a statement on Monday, NVBF President Musa Nimrod described the Super Cup as a major event on the federation’s calendar, aimed at showcasing the depth of volleyball talent across Nigeria.
Nimrod said the tournament also serves as a platform for promoting competitiveness, excellence and the long-term growth of the sport at both grassroots and elite levels.
He explained that the selected teams earned their places through strong performances and consistent records in their respective leagues, a process designed to guarantee a high standard of play.
The Premier Division (Men) features Chief of Naval Staff Volleyball Club, Nigeria Customs Service Volleyball Club and Nigeria Correctional Service Volleyball Club, while the Premier Division (Women) includes Nigeria Customs Service Volleyball Club, Chief of Naval Staff Volleyball Club and Chief of Army Staff Volleyball Club.
Competing in the Division I (Men) category are Defence Spikers Volleyball Club, Ajase Ipo Volleyball Club and Life Camp Volleyball Club. The Division I (Women) teams are Vipers Volleyball Club, Federal Fire Service Volleyball Club and Excelsior Volleyball Club from Abia State.
Nimrod assured all stakeholders of a well-organised tournament that meets international standards, adding that detailed information on fixtures, accreditation and logistics would be released soon.
He also called on volleyball fans and sports lovers to support the event, describing it as a celebration of talent, discipline and fair play.
