THE 19 Northern State Governors will convene an emergency meeting on Saturday, November 29, in Kaduna to address escalating security concerns across the region.
Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Assistant to the Nasarawa State Governor on Public Affairs, confirmed the development in an interview. He said the meeting will bring together governors and key traditional rulers to craft a unified strategy for confronting the region’s worsening security situation.
Ahemba noted that participants are expected to take firm decisions aimed at strengthening security coordination and preventing further instability. He added that Nasarawa State has already begun holding its own emergency security sessions to tackle threats and forestall any potential breach of peace.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and support security agencies by sharing credible information that could help identify individuals or groups involved in criminal activities.
