No Fuel Shortage Or Union Crisis, Says Dangote Refinery

DANGOTE Industries Limited has dismissed reports of petrol scarcity, price hikes, and disputes with PENGASSAN.
Vice President Devakumar Edwin said the refinery currently holds 312 million litres of PMS ready for loading and can meet Nigeria’s fuel demand. He noted that the refinery also exports about 50% of its products to countries including the U.S., India, and Brazil.
“There’s no scarcity or price issue. Any number of tankers that arrive will be loaded,” Edwin said, blaming claims of shortages on marketers trying to justify higher prices.
He also denied any conflict with PENGASSAN, explaining that recent staff reorganisation followed incidents of sabotage, not labour disputes.
Edwin assured that 4,000 new fuel tankers will begin operations before year-end, improving supply across the country.
