NNPCL Cuts Petrol Price Again, Drops To ₦920 Amid Market Competition

THE Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has again reduced the pump price of premium motor spirit (petrol), marking the second downward adjustment within a week. Petrol now sells for ₦920 per litre at NNPCL retail outlets in Abuja, down from ₦930, representing a ₦10 reduction.
The new price was observed on Thursday across several NNPCL stations, including outlets in Gwarimpa, Kubwa Expressway, and Wuse Zone 4. This follows an earlier price cut of ₦15 per litre implemented on 28 November 2025.
According to Chinedu Ukadike, spokesperson for the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), the continued price drops reflect increasing competition among major players in Nigeria’s deregulated downstream sector. He added that market rivalry is expected to push pump prices further down in the coming weeks.
