Nigeria’s Youth Tennis Stars Head To Angola For African Games

TEAM Nigeria’s tennis contingent has departed Abuja for Luanda, Angola, ahead of the 2025 African Youth Games scheduled for 10–20 December. The four-man squad—Goodnews Aina, Khadijat Mohammed, Oluwaseun Ogunsakin, and Ikenna Prosper Okonkwo—completed an intensive training camp before joining the nation’s delegation for the continental event.
Led by coach Akinwumi Ogunsakin, the junior players will compete against some of Africa’s top young talents. President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, expressed confidence in the team’s medal prospects and urged them to uphold discipline and Nigeria’s winning culture. He also praised the National Sports Commission for providing crucial support for the squad’s preparation.
