Nigeria Tops Medals Table At All African Para Badminton Championship

NIGERIA emerged overall winner at the 2025 All African Para Badminton Championships in Umuahia, Abia State, claiming 36 medals—10 gold, 13 silver, and 13 bronze—to lead the continent.
Governor Alex Otti, represented by Sports Commissioner Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba, hailed the event as a triumph of resilience and unity, commending athletes from over ten African nations for their spirit and inclusion through sports.
He praised Team Nigeria’s performance for restoring national pride and proving Abia’s capacity to host international competitions. The week-long event, organized by the Badminton Confederation of Africa and Nigeria Badminton Federation with support from the Abia State Government, marked Nigeria’s debut as host.
