Nigeria Signs Fresh $230 Million Arms Deal With Pakistan

NIGERIA has signed a new $230 million arms supply deal with Pakistan for aircraft, drones, and armored vehicles, following the suspension of an earlier agreement.
The revised contract covers 30 K-8 trainer/attack aircraft, 40 Shahpar-2 drones, 200 MR-10 drones, and 230 ASV Mohafiz-IV armored vehicles.
Director of the Defense Industries System, General Mirghani Idris, confirmed the deal after technical and political issues stalled the initial pact signed in August 2025.
A Nigerian delegation met with Pakistan’s Defense Production Minister, Muhammad Raza Hayat Harraj, in Islamabad to finalise the agreement.
The renegotiation followed China’s refusal to supply air defense systems due to sanctions and conflict concerns. Deliveries will be made via Port Sudan and Wadi Sayyidna Air Base under a new logistics plan.
