Nigeria Crushes Sierra Leone To Stay Hot In West Africa Trophy

NIGERIA’S Yellow Greens delivered a dominant all-round performance to defeat Sierra Leone by 68 runs on Matchday 7 of the West Africa Trophy at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
After winning the toss, Nigeria opted to bat and capitalised on Sierra Leone’s sloppy fielding to post a commanding 171/7. Danladi Isaac was the star of the innings, smashing 64 off 35 balls as the Patriots repeatedly leaked runs through fielding errors.
Sierra Leone’s response never gathered momentum. Only Abubakar Kamara showed resistance, scoring 29 off 25 balls, but the rest of the batting lineup crumbled under pressure. Nigeria bowled out the visitors for 103 in 19.3 overs to seal a comfortable 68-run victory.
The win keeps Nigeria firmly in contention as they prepare for their next fixture against Zambia on Friday. Earlier in the day, Zambia opened the third round with a spirited 23-run win over Rwanda, avenging back-to-back losses to the East Africans earlier in the tournament.
