Nigeria Breaks New Ground: CAC Ambassador Launches AI-Powered Business Registration Portal
THE Ambassador of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Mr. Michael Nwabufo, popularly known as Mike Premium, has officially launched an AI-powered business registration portal, a groundbreaking innovation designed to simplify and accelerate the process of registering businesses in Nigeria.
Nwabufo, who also serves as the President of the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skit Making and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN), made the announcement in Lagos on Saturday, describing the development as a bold step toward improving Nigeria’s global ease of doing business ranking.
A Leap for Entrepreneurs
According to Nwabufo, the portal represents a transformative shift in how Nigerians, especially small business owners and startups, can register and formalize their enterprises.
“For years, business registration in Nigeria has been seen as complicated, stressful, and sometimes expensive due to middlemen and unnecessary bureaucracy. With this AI-powered platform, prospective applicants can now complete their registration in as little as 10 minutes — without stress, without agents, and without the usual back-and-forth,” he said.
He explained that the innovation was the result of extensive collaboration between his team and the CAC, with the sole objective of empowering entrepreneurs and accelerating the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.
Backing Renewed Hope Agenda
Commending President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Nwabufo said the launch of the portal demonstrates the federal government’s clear commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, driving financial inclusion, and fostering a robust digital economy.
“This achievement is not just about ease of registration; it is about removing barriers for millions of Nigerians who have dreams of building sustainable businesses. It shows that our government is serious about enabling growth and empowering citizens,” Nwabufo noted.
First of Its Kind in Africa
He stressed that the platform is the first of its kind in Africa, and potentially in the world, by incorporating artificial intelligence to streamline the verification and documentation process.
“This innovation places Nigeria at the forefront of digital transformation in public service delivery. It is a proud moment for our nation and a model that others across Africa may soon adopt,” he added.
CAC’s Role in the Milestone
Nwabufo commended the Registrar-General of CAC, Ishaq Magaji, and the entire commission for their dedication to actualizing the project. He said their efforts reflect a deep commitment to supporting Nigerian entrepreneurs and ensuring that business registration is no longer a barrier to success.
“The CAC has proven that it is ready to embrace technology and deliver services that meet the demands of a digital age. This milestone will help countless startups and SMEs formalize their operations, opening access to financing, government incentives, and opportunities within the formal economy,” he said.
Accessible to the Public
The AI-powered registration portal is now fully operational and available to the public. Nwabufo described it as the beginning of a new era for Nigeria’s business environment.
“This is more than a portal; it’s a revolution in digital business services. With this platform, we are changing the narrative, reducing bureaucracy, and giving entrepreneurs the tools to succeed in record time,” he declared.
The unveiling has been widely welcomed as a step that could accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation, attract investors, and inspire confidence in the government’s drive to make the country a hub for innovation and enterprise in Africa.
