NIGCOMSAT Urges Security Agencies To Harness Satellite Tech

NIGERIAN Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) has called on the nation’s security personnel to strengthen their knowledge of satellite and emerging technologies to meet modern defense challenges.

Speaking at a training for officers from the army, navy, air force, and Nigeria Intelligence Agency in Abuja, NIGCOMSAT Managing Director, Jane Egerton-Idehen, said warfare now extends beyond land, sea, and air into space and cyberspace, where satellites are vital for surveillance, communication, and navigation.

She stressed the need for continuous learning to close gaps and enhance national defense. Participants welcomed the training, urging wider adoption of satellite knowledge across other sectors.
