THE Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has reported a modest rise in power generation performance, with grid-connected plants recording a 38% Plant Availability Factor (PAF) in September 2025—up two points from August.
Out of 13,625MW of installed capacity, an average of 5,200MW was available for dispatch, while plants achieved an Average Load Factor of 78%, generating 4,091MWh/h.
Zungeru, Egbin, Kainji, Jebba, and Delta plants accounted for 81% of total output, with Egbin and Kainji maintaining strong load factors above 90%.
The report noted voltage levels above prescribed limits but said grid frequency remained largely stable. NERC urged sustained investment in generation and maintenance to improve reliability.
The Commission said its monthly factsheets aim to enhance transparency and guide policy and investment decisions across the power sector.
