THE Niger Delta Micro Small Medium Enterprise (NDMSME) initiative has awarded ₦3 million in business grants to three young entrepreneurs in Bayelsa State during its fifth edition themed “Enhancing the Role of MSMEs as Drivers for Sustainable Growth and Innovation.”
The beneficiaries — Ochuko Richard (Dear Consultant), Blessing Asokomeh (Tak Hair Academy), and Ala Vanessa (Ala Gaps) — each received ₦1 million to expand their ventures.
Governor Douye Diri, represented by Secretary to the State Government Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, said the global economy is becoming more competitive as resources shrink, stressing that entrepreneurs must embrace knowledge, technology, and innovation to thrive. He encouraged the winners to create stability and growth despite a rapidly changing world.
Founder of NDMSME and Chairman of Heritage Group, Moses Siasia, noted that true wealth lies in uplifting others. He said the organisation has empowered over 650 young entrepreneurs across the Niger Delta, generating more than 20,000 jobs and preventing many youths from falling into crime or drug abuse. He urged the beneficiaries to remain focused and contribute to positive change in the region.
