NDLEA Delta Seizes ₦3 Billion Worth Of Cocaine, Meth, Tramadol

THE Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has impounded illicit drugs valued at over ₦3 billion across the state in 2025, underscoring intensified efforts against drug trafficking and abuse.
State Commander, Halilu Hamidu, disclosed this during a press briefing in Ogwashi-Uku while presenting the Command’s end-of-year performance. He said the seizures included 1,750kg of cannabis, 224.65g of cocaine, 32.3g of heroin, 800.8g of methamphetamine and 311.9kg of tramadol, alongside other substances such as Rohypnol, Diazepam, Molly and Codeine.
Hamidu added that liquid drugs totaling 714.4 litres were also confiscated. The Command secured 226 convictions within the year, with 189 cases still pending at the Federal High Courts in Asaba and Warri.
He revealed that NDLEA operatives destroyed over 60 hectares of cannabis farms in Ndokwa West LGA and recently raided a warehouse in Asaba where drugs worth ₦150 million were recovered. Hamidu warned that such substances pose grave risks to youths, especially during the festive season, while assuring that investigations to arrest traffickers are ongoing.
