THE National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a reduction in the cost of the 2026 pilgrimage to Mecca, with fares set between ₦8.1 million and ₦8.5 million depending on departure zones.
NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, said the new structure—approved by the Federal Government—offers pilgrims an average saving of about ₦200,000 compared to 2025 rates.
-
Maiduguri-Yola Zone (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba): ₦8,118,333.67 — down ₦209,000.
-
Other Northern states: ₦8,244,813.67 — down ₦213,000.
-
Southern states: ₦8,561,013.67 — down ₦223,000.
The commission explained that the downward review followed fresh agreements signed in Saudi Arabia with the Hajj Service Provider Company (Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya) and the Transportation Company (Daleel Al-Ma’aleem) to streamline costs.
NAHCON urged intending pilgrims to complete payments by 31st December 2025, in line with Saudi Arabia’s deadline.
