Mulade Hails Oborevwori’s Infrastructure Drive, Challenges LG Bosses

Praise for Statewide Projects
RENOWNED human and development advocate, Comrade Mulade Sheriff, has commended Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for what he described as sweeping infrastructural transformation across major urban centres in Delta State.
Mulade, who holds the traditional title of Ibe-Sorimowei of the ancient oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area, praised the administration’s ongoing projects, characterising them as an “infrastructural revolution in the upland of the state.”
According to him, road expansions, flyovers and urban renewal initiatives have significantly improved the outlook of key cities, reflecting the governor’s commitment to modernising the state’s physical landscape.
Call for Grassroots Development
While applauding the governor’s performance, Mulade urged the 25 Local Government Area (LGA) chairmen to step up development efforts in their respective councils. He stressed that many residents at the grassroots level do not directly feel the impact of the state’s infrastructural push unless they travel to urban centres.
“It is imperative to state that most Deltans do not feel, neither experience the developmental efforts of the government at the local level, except they travel to the major city centres,” he noted.
Mulade challenged council leaders to initiate people-oriented and economy-driven projects capable of stimulating local growth and improving living standards. He argued that local governments possess adequate resources to execute meaningful projects that would complement the state government’s agenda.
“The council chairmen should be courageous and bold enough to embark on significant legacy projects rather than hiding under the governor’s achievements,” he said.
Focus on Riverine Communities
The activist also called for increased attention to riverine communities, which he said require targeted infrastructure to unlock their economic potential.
He specifically appealed for the prioritisation of the long-anticipated Ayakoromo Bridge and the proposed Burutu–Forcados–Ogulagha Road project. According to him, these projects would not only enhance connectivity in coastal areas but also boost internally generated revenue and expand economic activities.
Mulade emphasised that strategic investments in underserved communities would ensure balanced development across the state.
He concluded that stronger collaboration between state and local governments would accelerate economic growth and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
