Mrs. Soludo Congratulates Onyinyechi Basil On Winning Miss Universe Nigeria 2025
WIFE of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has congratulated Anambra-born beauty queen Onyinyechi Basil on her victory as Miss Universe Nigeria 2025.
In a statement released on Monday in Awka, Soludo described Onyinyechi Basil as Anambra’s brand of courage and excellence.
Mrs. Soludo said that Anambra is blessed with countless talents and great achievers who are blazing trails in diverse areas of life.
“Our talent export is a spectacular one. And I’m super glad that each national and global success story has Anambra’s ingenuity on it.
“Congratulations, my dearest Onyinyechi Basil. Our support and prayers are with you to conquer the world in November. God bless the Queen,” she said.
Report says that Basil edged out Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, to clinch the crown at the grand finale of the pageant held on Saturday night in Lagos.
Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, finished as second runner-up, while Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, finished as third runner-up.
Basil now takes over the crown from Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidinma Adetshina, the reigning Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
She will represent Nigeria at the 74th Miss Universe pageant taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, later this year.
