Scholarship Scheme Takes Off in Asaba
THE maiden edition of the Tony Ndah Foundation Scholarship Scheme for indigent WAEC students was successfully held on 24 January 2026, at Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba, Asaba, with the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, in attendance.
The monarch congratulated the foundation and praised its founder, Ogbueshi Tony Ndah, describing him as a committed philanthropist whose initiatives are deeply rooted in the progress of Asaba Kingdom.
Future of Asaba in Youths
According to the Asagba, the number of beneficiaries at the event underscored the promise of a brighter future for Asaba. He said education remains the strongest foundation for leadership and sustainable development.
He commended the organizers for addressing students on critical issues such as education, discipline, and social vices, noting that exposure to successful professionals helps inspire young people to pursue excellence.
Message to Students
The monarch charged the beneficiaries to maintain good behaviour, avoid social vices, and remain focused on their academic goals. He reminded them of the responsibility that comes with opportunity, urging them to become role models and future benefactors.
He also acknowledged the foundation’s broader contributions to the kingdom, including infrastructural and cultural projects.
Stakeholders Speak
Earlier, Madam Obiageli Ndah welcomed guests on behalf of the foundation’s CEO. Prof. Etuna Mbah delivered a lecture on the importance of education, while Mrs. Brenda Ndili-Okolie spoke on the dangers of social vices.
Madam Helen Dunkwu briefed the monarch on the transparent process used in selecting beneficiaries. Engr. John Onyemenam announced plans for similar empowerment initiatives, while Chief Chukwurah Chukwuemeka Charles encouraged students to study consistently ahead of their WAEC exams.
Ogbueshi Fidelis Mdah gave the vote of thanks.
