LGAN Inaugural Kitty Signals Fresh Start For Women’s Golf

The Ladies’ Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) will formally launch a new era of leadership and activity with its inaugural kitty scheduled for Friday 14 February, in Abuja.
The event, which will be hosted at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Golf Club, NAF Base, Airport Road, will officially welcome the association’s new President, Mrs. Lami Ahmed, alongside members of the 2025–2027 Executive Council.
As part of activities marking the transition, LGAN will hold an onboarding retreat for its leadership on Thursday 13 February, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The retreat is expected to provide strategic orientation for executive members ahead of the new golfing season.
Mrs. Ahmed said the twin events reflect the association’s focus on unity, organisational growth, and sustainable development of women’s golf across Nigeria. She noted that the inaugural kitty is designed not only as a sporting event but also as a statement of purpose for the new administration.
According to her, the onboarding retreat will help ensure that all leaders are aligned with LGAN’s vision, values, and priorities for the next two years.
The kitty is expected to draw participation from LGAN members, guest players, and prominent figures within the golf community. Engr. Andrew Yakubu will serve as Chairman of the event, while Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan is listed as Special Guest of Honour.
Mrs. Ahmed expressed confidence that the gathering would strengthen collaboration within the association and reinforce LGAN’s commitment to professionalism and inclusiveness.
She added that the new executive is determined to build on past achievements while positioning women’s golf in Nigeria for greater visibility and competitiveness.
