LG Poll: Ethiope West PDP Kicks Off Campaigns, Seeks Royal Blessings

IN a display of cultural reverence and political courtesy, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ethiope West chapter, led by its Chairmanship candidate, Chief Onogba Chris and all 20 Ward councillorship candidates, officially kicked off its campaign for the July 13th Local Government Council Elections yesterday with visits to the three traditional rulers in the Local Government Area.
The campaign train first visited the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Noble Oyibo Eshemitan, Orefe III, the Ovie of Oghara Kingdom. It then proceeded to the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Obukohwo M. A. Whiskey, Udurhie I, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, and concluded the day’s activities at the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Sunday Odogu Okpurhie, Uduaka I, the Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom, to seek the prayers, blessings, and royal support of the traditional leaders ahead of the campaigns.
In his address at the various palaces, Coordinator of the Campaign Council, Chief Henry Eghwubare, expressed gratitude for the warm receptions and emphasized the respect that the party has for the traditional authorities in the Local Government. “We are here to introduce all our candidates and to inform our respected Royal Majesties that the People’s Democratic Party in Ethiope West LGA will be going round the various Wards from tomorrow to sensitize the people on our party programmes and manifestos,” Eghwubare said.
The Chairmanship candidate, Chief Christian Onogba, in his remarks, conveyed his sincere desire to maintain a close relationship with the traditional institutions when elected on July 13th. He assured that his administration would do everything to promote the unity of the LGA and seek the continuous support of the Royal Majesties.
The royal fathers, in their remarks, commended the PDP leadership for its respectful approach and encouraged a peaceful and fair elections. They appluaded the visit as a strategic move that shows the PDP’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with the respected cultural institutions and securing broad-based support for the party.
The PDP delegation included Chief Sen. Ighoyota Amori, Rt. Hon. Ben Igbakpa, Hon. Anthony Akpomiemie, LGA Party Chairman Chief Solomon Obareki, Chairmanship candidate Hon. Chris Onogba, his running mate Hon. Austine Atomre, all councillorship candidates, Immediate Past Council Chairman Hon. Oghenedoro Owoso, Pastor Godwin Akpovie, Campaign Coordinator Hon. Henry Eghwubare, his Deputy Hon. Evidence Igere, and Secretary Chief Anthony Agboma.
Others in attendance were Chief Duncan Eghweree, Chief Austine Atiti,Comr. Sagboje Odiri Milton, Chief Ese Atikpakpa, Mrs. Esther Okamonu, Chief Daniel Oyokose, Mrs. Josephine Akpeninor, Chief Oguje, Hon. Richard Ofenor among other party leaders and stakeholders.
