LG Poll: Ethiope West Chairmanship Candidate, Onogba Promises Purposeful Leadership

The chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) for Ethiope West Local Government Area, Chief Christian Onogba, has pledged to provide responsible and purposeful leadership if elected into office at the July 13th Local Government Council elections in the State.
Speaking during the LG PDP campaign rally for Wards 11, 12, 15, 16, 13 and 14 at Oghara Junction, Ijomi, Otefe, Otumara and Ogharefe respectively, Chief Onogba assured the electorate of his commitment to ensuring accountability in the management of the council’s affairs. Emphasising his dedication to inclusivity, he promised to involve all stakeholders in his administration, adhering to the principle of openness in governance.
The Former Delta State commissioner further noted the importance of grassroots development in driving national progress, asserting that focusing on local government-level development would contribute significantly to poverty eradication.
Speaking on the potential impact of his leadership, the PDP candidate stressed that promoting peace and facilitating rapid development within the council and the state at large were among his primary objectives.
“I want to assure the good people of Ethiope West Local Government Area of purposeful leadership in the interest of peace and for the speedy development of our council area and, by extension, Delta state,” he stated.
In his appeal for support, Onogba urged the electorate to turn out in their large numbers and cast their votes without hesitation for him, and all the PDP councillorship candidates representing the twenty wards in the council area in the forthcoming local government election billed for July 13, 2024.
In his remark, the Chairman of the Ethiope West Leaders Forum, Chief Ighoyota Amori stated that every good thing that have happened to Ethiope West since 1999 in term of development and empowerment came through the PDP and that the people must stand with the PDP, adding that nothing should annoy anyone to make him/her forget what the PDP has done for the Local Government. He emphasized that Delta State is PDP, noting that no party can take Delta State from the PDP.
Coordinator of the Campaign, Chief Henry Eghwubare in his speeches informed the enthusiastic electorates that the party leadership is in the wards to introduce the Chairmanship candidate, Chief Christian Onogba, his running mate, Hon. Austine Atomre and the Councillorship candidate that the ward has nominated to represent the party in the councillorship elections.
Chief Young Afighi, Chief Joseph Ogaga Ogudje, Chief Duncan Ewhere, Chief Ben Igbakpa, Hon. Benjamin Oboh and Chief Charlie Adu in their various responses assured the party’s candidates and leader of their support and promise to mobilize the grassroot to ensure a seamless victor for all PDP candidates on July 13th.
On the party delegation were Chief Ighoyota Amori, Chief Engr. Emmanuel Ighomena, Hon. Ben Igbakpa, Chairmanship candidate, Chief Christian Onogba, his running mate, Hon. Austine Atomre, LGA Party Chairman, Chief Solomon Obareki, Commissioner Ejiro Etacherure, Pastor Godwin Akpovie, Hon. Isaac Omomedia, Chief Austine Atiti, Campaign Coordinator, Chief Henry Eghwubare, his Deputy, Hon. Evidence Igere and Secretary, Chief Anthony Agboma. Others are Chief Duncan Ewhere, Hon. Benjamin Oboh, Mrs. Josephine Akpeninor, Former Chairmanship Aspirant, Comr. Wisdom Gabriel, Hon. Richard Ofenor, Head of Media/Publicity, Comr. Odiri Milton Sagboje among others.
On ground to receive the party leaders at the various Wards were, Chief Young Afighi, Hon. Smith Nikoro, Chief Joseph Ogunje, Hon. Isaac Bode, Johnbull, Mr. Friday Omoko, Atumah Patrick, Nicholas Omoko, Henry Mayor, Frank Adje, Shedrack Adagbo, Chief Simon Odeh, Allen Ajoshoke, Hon. Mike Umukoro, Chief Umudjane Onosiru, Hon. Ben Eche, Chief Ese Atikpakpa, Chief Dan Oyokose, Chief Andrew Atumah, Joseph Otomewo, Oghara Youth Chairman led by Comr. Monday Omomedia.
Highlights of the events were the presentation of the party flags to Miss Phibian Loveth Ayigbe, Hon. Ben Eki, Comr. Kingsley Onoriode Omoko, Mr. Peter Erhia, Mr. Felix Ejimiyoma and Comr. Godstime Eyowhara, the councillorship candidates for Ward 11, 12, 15, 16, 13 and 16 respectively by the Local Government party Chairman, Chief Solomon Obareki who charge the electorates that to come out enmasse on July 13th to vote for all PDP candidates, assuring that the candidates will not disappoint the people.
