Lawmaker Distributes 12,000 Agric Inputs, 4,500 Bags Of Grains To Constituents

REPRESENTATIVE Bello Ka’oje, representing Suru/Bagudo federal constituency in Kebbi, has distributed 12,000 agric inputs and assorted grains to farmers and less-privileged people in his constituency.
Flagging of the distribution on Saturday in Ka’oje, Bagudo Local Government Area of the state, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi, commended Ka’oje for demonstrating an excellent representation for his constituency.
“This is the kind of representation we want and cherish for our party and for our people in the state.
“We commend Ka’oje for what he has been doing to his constituents, and this is a true and excellent representation that is worthy of emulation by all our representatives at all level of governance,” he said.
Idris warned against selling of government-provided fertilisers, saying, “security agencies have been mandated to keep surveillance, arrest and prosecute all violators of this order.”
Earlier, Ka’oje, explained that the beneficiaries of the fertilisers cut across party, religious, and ethnic lines.
“Over 4,000 farmers will get 4,000 fertilisers, 4,000 herbicide chemicals, and spraying machines, while other constituents will get 4,500 assorted grains, all for free.
“A committee has been set up to see to the equitable distribution of the items to the beneficiaries.
“I appeal to beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the commodity to pave way for bumper harvest this year,” he advised.
Ka’oje, particularly cautioned against diversion of the product for purposes other than the one intended.
He thanked the governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) members for sustaining the party in the area, describing the feat as heartwarming.
On his part, the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Kana-Zuru, called on political office holders at all levels to emulate the lawmaker’s unwavering commitment to providing dividends of democracy to his constituency.
“We will not condone selfish and self-centred politicians that hoard the dividends of democracy for their personal aggrandisement.
“The party and its people will make sure that people with such character, are changed right from the party’s primary election,” he warned.
Report stated that items distributed included; urea fertilisers, herbicide chemicals, spraying machines, bags of rice, millet, guinea-corn, and maize.
