Kano Pilgrims Board Announces ₦8.5 Million Deposit, 5,684 Seats For 2026 Hajj
THE Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has directed intending pilgrims to pay a deposit of ₦8.5 million for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Alhaji Lamin Danbappa, Director-General of the board, stated this during a meeting with its members, management staff and Local Government Hajj Registration Officers in Kano.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Sulaiman Dederi, on Wednesday in Kano.
Account to the him, the directive was in line with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
“The payment will be made through bank drafts and submitted through the local government Hajj registration officers,” he said.
Danbappa said the state had been allocated 5,684 seats for the 2026 exercise.
He said the collection of deposits had commenced and would close on 5 October 2025.
The director-general urged the intending pilgrims to pay promptly and adhere to the registration requirements, which include eight passport-sized photographs and a valid international passport.
