JAMB Debunks UTME Postponement Rumour

Board Dismisses Viral Claim
THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has refuted claims that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been postponed, describing the information as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the examination body said a press release currently circulating on social media suggesting a change in schedule did not originate from the board.
Warning to Candidates
JAMB cautioned candidates and the general public against relying on unverified information, urging them to disregard the fake notice.
“Our attention has been drawn to a malicious press release claiming that the 2026 UTME has been postponed. This is entirely false and did not emanate from us,” the board stated.
It emphasised that all preparations and activities related to the examination remain on course.
Exam Dates Unchanged
The board reiterated that the 2026 UTME will be conducted as earlier scheduled, from 16 to 25 April 2026.
Candidates have been advised to continue their preparations and rely only on official communication channels for updates regarding the examination.
JAMB also urged the public to remain vigilant against misinformation, especially as the examination period approaches.
