Isoko Constituents Receive Skills Training, ₦200,000 Grants In Ukodhiko Initiative

REP. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency, has concluded a three-day vocational empowerment programme for youths and women, organised in partnership with the Projects Development Institute (PRODA) and Hammdes Nigeria Limited.
The programme, which began with a flag-off in Ozoro on 10 February 2026, focused on practical enterprise skills including stud and cufflink production, beadwork and shoe cobbling. The training aimed to equip participants with hands-on technical knowledge to support small-scale business development and long-term self-reliance.
PRODA officials said the training met national industrial standards, positioning beneficiaries to compete within Nigeria’s growing craft and creative production sector while promoting local manufacturing.
At the closing ceremony, participants received official PRODA certificates and a ₦200,000 business support grant each, facilitated by Ukodhiko to enable immediate business start-up.
Beneficiaries described the combination of training, certification and financial support as a strong foundation for sustainable livelihoods.
The initiative forms part of Ukodhiko’s broader constituency interventions aimed at strengthening youth capacity, boosting women’s economic participation and expanding grassroots enterprise opportunities across Isoko North and South. Participants showing strong commitment may be considered for follow-up retraining.
