GUNMEN suspected to be kidnappers stormed Kpaduma 3, Asokoro Extension in Abuja on Monday night, killing a vigilante, raping two girls, and injuring several residents during a prolonged attack.
Witnesses said the attackers, believed to have come from nearby Kobi village, exchanged fire with local vigilantes. The victim, identified as “Bako,” was shot dead in the crossfire, while terrified residents reported hearing gunfire and grenade-like blasts.
One resident blamed the landlord of a targeted house for ignoring repeated calls for security upgrades. Police later arrived to restore calm, but residents say fear and frustration linger, demanding stronger patrols and faster response.
The FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, has yet to comment on the incident.
