Golden Eaglets Battle Ghana For AFCON U-17 Spot

NIGERIA’S Golden Eaglets will face arch-rivals Ghana’s Black Starlets on Tuesday in the semi-final of the WAFU-B U17 Championship at the Stade Charles Konan Banny, Yamoussoukro, with kick-off at 8:00 PM Nigerian time.
The Eaglets, five-time FIFA U-17 World Cup champions, topped Group B with four goals scored and just one conceded. Ghana, meanwhile, struggled in Group A, drawing with Togo, losing to Côte d’Ivoire, before edging Niger Republic 3-1 to stay alive.
Nigeria holds the upper hand in recent meetings, having beaten Ghana twice in the 2022 edition. A win on Tuesday will secure the Eaglets’ 2026 AFCON U-17 qualification and a place in the tournament final.
