GHANA’S Black Princesses opened their 2025 WAFU B U20 Women’s Championship campaign in style, defeating hosts Benin Republic 2–0 on Friday to set up a mouthwatering clash with archrivals Nigeria’s Falconets.
The result puts Ghana in early contention for the top spot in the three-team tournament, which features Nigeria, Benin, and Ghana following the withdrawal of Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.
Head coach Yusif Basigi praised his side’s composure but urged focus ahead of the decisive meeting with defending champions Nigeria, who remain unbeaten in their last 10 WAFU B U20 matches.
The Ghana–Nigeria showdown took place yesterday Saturday 8 November with the winner expected to take charge of the round-robin competition and move closer to the title.
