Free Creative Writing Masterclass Opens For Lagos Writers

Aiye-Ko-Ooto Unveils Free Writing Masterclass at Freedom Park
CELEBRATED Nigerian-American playwright and literary mentor, Cash Onadele, popularly called Aiye-Ko-Ooto, has announced a Free Creative Writing Masterclass Workshop 2.0 focused on strengthening storytelling skills among aspiring writers.
The workshop, themed “Story Themes and Structure,” will be held at Freedom Park, Lagos Island, and divided into two batches. Batch A will run from 20 to 23 February, while Batch B is slated for 25 to 28 February. The programme is open to students, creatives and members of the public interested in creative writing.
While attendance is free, organisers said registration is compulsory due to limited capacity.
Onadele, who has published more than 118 creative works across multiple genres, will facilitate the sessions. He is widely respected for his commitment to cultural education and for mentoring writers through a fusion of African storytelling heritage and contemporary narrative practices.
According to organisers, the masterclass is structured to provide participants with practical tools for developing story ideas, understanding narrative themes, organising plots and exploring publishing opportunities. Participants will also benefit from guided writing exercises, mentorship and complimentary learning resources.
They added that the initiative supports Nigeria’s growing creative industry and complements the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Initiative by promoting literacy, youth empowerment and creative entrepreneurship.
Organisers believe the workshop will help identify and nurture emerging voices for literature, film, theatre and cultural documentation.
Registration is free but mandatory due to limited slots. Interested individuals can secure a place through the official link: Register Here.
