Eid-El-Fitr: Tinubu Urges Unity, Compassion & National Renewal

President Extends Eid Greetings
PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has congratulated Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the celebration of Eid-El-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement issued in Abuja by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the president urged Muslims to celebrate the occasion with a renewed commitment to unity, patriotism, and service to humanity.
Reflecting on Ramadan’s Lessons
Tinubu emphasised that Ramadan is more than a period of fasting, describing it as a time for spiritual renewal and moral discipline.
He noted that the holy month teaches values such as sacrifice, compassion, perseverance, and devotion to God, urging adherents to sustain these virtues beyond the fasting period.
According to him, these principles are essential in shaping responsible citizens and building a more cohesive society.
Call for Unity and Peaceful Coexistence
The president stressed the importance of national unity, particularly in a country as diverse as Nigeria.
He called on citizens to rise above religious and ethnic differences, noting that peaceful coexistence remains a cornerstone for sustainable development and stability.
Tinubu’s message comes at a time when the country continues to grapple with socio-economic and security challenges, making unity a critical national priority.
Encouraging Acts of Kindness
Highlighting the spirit of generosity associated with Eid, the president urged Muslims to extend acts of charity to the less privileged, regardless of their background.
He said such gestures would strengthen social bonds, promote inclusiveness, and reinforce the sense of brotherhood that underpins Nigerian society.
Prayers for National Progress
Tinubu also called on religious leaders to use the occasion to offer prayers for peace, stability, and economic prosperity.
Expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future, he said collective efforts and shared responsibility would enable the nation to overcome its current challenges.
A Message of Hope
While wishing Muslims a joyful Eid celebration, the president prayed that the blessings of Ramadan would bring renewed hope, strength, and guidance to individuals, families, and the nation at large.
