DSS Arrests Major Arms Dealer Linked To Northern Attacks

THE Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Musa Abubakar, a suspected major arms manufacturer and supplier to armed groups operating in Plateau State and other northern regions. He was apprehended on 12 November 2025, following precise intelligence.
DSS sources said Abubakar confessed to producing and distributing high-caliber weapons used in violent attacks. A targeted raid on his workshop in Mista Ali, Bassa LGA, led to the recovery of IED components, chemicals and weapons-making equipment.
The arrest comes days after the recapture of Kuje Prison escapee Abdulazeez Obadaki (a.k.a. Bomboy), linked to the Owo and Deeper Life Church attacks.
The DSS has recently recorded multiple breakthroughs, including the arrest of nine high-profile suspects involved in Plateau and Benue violence, among them Timna Manjol, who has pleaded guilty to illegal firearms possession.
