Dr Ochuko Emudainohwo To Deliver 2025 DOPF Annual Lecture
THE Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has announced Dr. Ochuko Benedict Emudainohwo, PhD, FCA, Associate Professor of Accounting at Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, as the Guest Speaker for its 6th Annual Lecture scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, at David’s Event Centre, Asaba, starting at 11:00 a.m.
In a joint statement signed by the Planning Committee Chairman, Mr. Abel Johngold, and Secretary, Mrs. Josephine Omodior, Dr. Emudainohwo was described as “an accomplished scholar and professional accountant with an exceptional record in academic leadership, research, and professional service.”
Dr. Emudainohwo currently serves as an Associate Professor of Accounting at DOU and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA). He is widely recognized for his expertise in taxation, accounting, and financial governance.
He earned his PhD in Accounting from Glasgow, United Kingdom, and holds a Master’s Degree in Finance, an MBA (Finance), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting — all from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
He previously served as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences (2023/2024 session), where he championed curriculum innovation, faculty development, and research advancement.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Emudainohwo has published extensively in top national and international journals. His studies explore critical issues such as foreign direct investment, firm performance, taxation, fiscal governance, and public sector accountability.
His academic work has significantly contributed to ongoing debates on economic reforms and governance transparency in emerging economies.
At DOU, he coordinates the Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) and teaches several undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Financial Accounting, Social and Environmental Accounting, Advanced Management Accounting Theory, and Contemporary Issues in Accounting.
He has also supervised numerous research projects and dissertations, shaping the next generation of accounting scholars and professionals.
Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Emudainohwo serves on various university committees, promoting academic excellence and institutional growth. He remains an active member of ICAN and other professional bodies dedicated to financial integrity and policy reform.
The 2025 DOPF Annual Lecture will explore the theme: “Nigeria’s New Tax Law: Implications and Opportunities for Businesses and Society.”
The Planning Committee expressed confidence that Dr. Emudainohwo’s lecture will offer “a scholarly, practical, and policy-relevant perspective on how Nigeria’s evolving tax framework affects enterprises, governance, and public welfare.”
The event will also feature a panel of distinguished discussants from government, academia, business, and civil society, and is expected to draw policymakers, professionals, corporate executives, and media representatives from across Nigeria.
According to the organisers, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, will attend as Special Guest of Honour, alongside top government officials and dignitaries from various sectors.
The DOPF Annual Lecture, now in its sixth edition, continues to serve as a premier platform for policy dialogue, thought leadership, and media engagement in Delta State and beyond.
