A New Platform for Youth Engagement
OMONIGHO Oborevwori, daughter of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has launched the maiden edition of the Delta Youth Carnival, drawing over 5,000 young people to the Trade Fair Arena, Osubi, in Okpe Local Government Area on December 29, 2025.
Organised through her Ruby Awareness Initiative Foundation (RAIF), the event blended entertainment with education, advocacy and youth-focused enlightenment, emerging as one of the most attended youth gatherings during the yuletide season in the state.
Beyond Entertainment
Speaking at the carnival, Omonigho Oborevwori said the initiative was created to unite Delta youths through positive social engagement while promoting inclusion, awareness and a shared identity. She stressed that the carnival was designed not only to entertain but also to inspire young people toward healthy living, civic responsibility and community participation.
Music, Culture and Advocacy
Activities at the event included live music, dance performances, comedy skits, health talks, PVC sensitisation and interactive sessions. Popular artistes such as Erigga, Boy Spyce, Berri-Tiga, Harrysong, DJ Switchy and Deacon Famous thrilled the audience, keeping the atmosphere vibrant well into the night.
