THE Delta State Government has restated its commitment to prioritising workers’ welfare and strengthening the education sector under the Oborevwori administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda. Chief of Staff, Government House, Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo, made the pledge while receiving the Association of Education Officers in the state civil service.
Erijo urged education stakeholders to deepen their contribution to the “Opportunity for All” programme, noting that government continues to promote quality learning through the construction and renovation of school facilities. He praised Education Officers for their professionalism, describing them as key partners in maintaining standards and driving policy delivery.
Reaffirming that the civil service remains central to effective governance, he assured that the administration will sustain efforts to improve the welfare and working conditions of its workforce. He also expressed appreciation for the group’s support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and promised that their requests would be duly reviewed.
Earlier, Chairman of the Association, Jemijere Unuigbe, commended the state government for its strides in the education sector. He requested enhanced training, stronger logistics support, improved career progression, and the inclusion of Education Officers in policy formulation to ensure evidence-based decision-making.
