Delta First Lady Urges Unity, Prayer & Civic Participation Among Royal Mothers

By PAULINA NZERUBE
DELTA State First Lady and Founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has urged royal mothers across the state to strengthen unity, support one another, and continue praying for peace and progress in their kingdoms. She made the call during the End-of-Year Banquet held in honour of the Wives of Traditional Rulers on 5 December 2025.
Welcoming the royal mothers, the First Lady expressed gratitude for their partnership with the state government and noted that their presence and the harmony reflected in their communities were signs of growth and stability. She encouraged them to use the gathering to share updates, interact, and deepen relationships that strengthen community development.
Deaconess Oborevwori also emphasized the importance of women’s political participation, urging the Queens to ensure that women in their domains register for Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) to amplify their voices in governance.
The First Lady paid tribute to three Queens who passed on during the year—Queen Anthonia Kikachukwu of Ubulu Unor, Queen Rhoda Owhe of Umeh, and Queen Uzezi Ogeh of Ase—offering condolences to their families and calling for a minute of silence in their memory.
She reaffirmed her commitment to ongoing collaboration with the royal mothers and encouraged them to remain united, prayerful, and supportive of each other. She prayed for continued peace in their domains and wished them a safe return home, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Speaking on behalf of the Queens, Her Royal Majesty Queen Ofejiro Ogbogbo of Ozoro Kingdom thanked the First Lady for creating a valuable platform for royal mothers to connect socially beyond their domains and pledged continued support for the Oborevwori administration.
The event underscored the First Lady’s dedication to community engagement, women empowerment, and strengthening traditional leadership structures across Delta State.
