Delta Assembly Speaker Mourns Former Clerk, Chief Dan Okenyi
SPEAKER of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Dan Okenyi, a former Clerk of the Assembly and former Commissioner for Lands, Survey, and Urban Development in Delta State.
In a statement released through his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker described Okenyi’s death as a painful loss and extended heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
“It is with profound sadness that I received the news of the passing of Chief Dan Okenyi,” Guwor said. “On behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly, I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life and service. May his soul rest in peace, and may God grant his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
Chief Dan Okenyi, fondly known as “Kabila,” served as Clerk during the 2nd and part of the 3rd Delta State Assembly. He passed away after a brief illness, according to a family source.
He hailed from Ukunzu in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
