Delta APC Strengthens Unity With Smooth LGA Congresses

Consensus Defines Delta APC LGA Congress
THE Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday conducted what party leaders described as peaceful and hitch-free congresses across the 25 local government areas of the state, producing new executives through consensus.
The exercise, held simultaneously across the LGAs, witnessed a large turnout of party faithful and was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, representatives of the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, and members of the media.
Party Leadership Applauds Process
At the party secretariat in Asaba, the state chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, received members of the APC National Congress Committee assigned to Delta. He commended the committee for the earlier successful ward congresses and urged strict adherence to party guidelines during the LGA exercise.
Speaking after monitoring the process across Delta’s three senatorial districts, the committee’s secretary, Mr. Simon Atigwe, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of members and the orderly atmosphere in the LGAs visited.
He described the process as transparent and inclusive, noting that it reflected the party’s resolve to strengthen unity and internal cohesion. According to him, Delta stood out for its peaceful environment and effective security arrangements.
Stakeholders Rally for 2027
Party stakeholders across the state lauded the rancour-free exercise. Among them was the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who commended members for their maturity and unity.
He urged party faithful to consolidate on the success of the congresses by working toward the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in 2027.
In Ika North-East, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, also praised the transparent nature of the congress.
Similarly, the Chairman of Oshimili South LGA, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili, described the exercise as sincere and consensus-driven. Other stakeholders from Oshimili North, including Mr. Frank Esenwa, Chief Innocent Esewezie, Chief Patrick Ukah, and Mr. Olisa Ifeajika, applauded the peaceful conduct.
Party chieftains expressed optimism that the emergence of executives across all 25 LGAs had further strengthened APC’s unity and positioned it strategically for future electoral contests in Delta State.
