THE Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has barred participants from using mobile phones during its enlarged stakeholders’ meeting scheduled for Sunday at the Government House Banquet Hall, Asaba, citing security reasons.
In a statement, State Publicity Secretary Valentine Onojeghuo said invitees must leave their phones in their vehicles before accreditation at the Third Gate of Government House, after which they will be conveyed by buses to the venue.
The meeting, to be presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, will host key party figures including Festus Keyamo, O’tega Emerhor, and Ede Dafinone. It marks the first major APC stakeholders’ gathering since Oborevwori and former PDP members joined the party.
The event comes amid internal tensions following the suspension of some local party leaders linked to former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, who may boycott the meeting alongside other notable figures.
