Court Orders Closure Of Bolero Hotel In Underage Prostitution Probe

Government Moves Against Alleged Criminal Hub
THE Delta State Government has shut down Bolero Hotel and Nightclub in Agbor following allegations that the establishment was being used for underage prostitution and illicit drug activities.
The closure was executed in compliance with an order from the Delta State High Court in Ika South Local Government Area, dated 10 February 2026.
According to court records, Orewa Ekene, operating under the name Bolero Concepts, was arraigned on six counts related to trafficking in persons, contrary to provisions of the Delta State Human Trafficking (Prohibition) Law, 2024.
The defendant entered a not guilty plea and was remanded at the Agbor Custodial Centre. The matter has been adjourned to 3 March 2026.
Part of Wider Enforcement Campaign
During the court session, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice sought an order to seal the premises, arguing that it was allegedly linked to criminal activities involving minors and drug distribution. The court granted the request on 11 February, pending the determination of the case.
Officials say the move aligns with the state government’s ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking, protect minors, and curb drug-related crimes.
In December 2025, authorities similarly sealed the Happy Home Children Orphanage in Okwe over child trafficking allegations.
The government has reiterated its commitment to enforcing laws designed to safeguard vulnerable groups and ensure that businesses operate within the confines of the law.
