Collapsed Church Building: DTSG Receives Report Of Panel Of Inquiry
The Delta State Government has received the report of the panel of Inquiry constituted to determine the cause of the collapse building housing a branch of a church of the Salvation Ministry along Okpanam Road with assurance to review it towards proffering a lasting solution to the collapse of buildings.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, stated this in his office in Asaba when he received the report of the committee that investigated the ugly incidence which occurred on January 11, 2022.
Chief Ukah said that the report would help the government to provide lasting solution to the challenge of collapse of buildings.
He said it would assist the government in its commitment to the provision of urban infrastructure and general healthy living environment.
The SSG assured the victims of the collapsed building that justice would be done at the end of the whole exercise.
Earlier, the Chairman of the panel, Dr. Helen Anazia, stated that the panel had investigated the causes of the collapsed building in the state and made recommendations on how to avert future occurrence.
She commended the panel members for working assiduously in producing the report and expressed optimism that the state government would study the report towards finding a lasting solution to building collapse in the state.
She thanked the state government for finding them worthy to serve in the committee.
Highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the report to the SSG who received it on behalf of the state government.
