Breaking: Six Dead As Suspected Kidnappers Lay Wait For Apostle Suleiman, Murder Police Officers, Civilian in Auchi
SIX persons, including four Police Officers, a male civilian and a little girl believed to be in the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries were on Friday evening gruesomely murdered at Water Tanker Junction, Warrake Road, Auchi, Edo State.
This incidence was said to have happened at about 5pm when an unidentified group of gunmen who eyewitnesses say had kept watch in their parked ash coloured Sienna vehicle without number plates allegedly opened fire at the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleman who was said to be homecoming after being away from the country.
The clergyman’s vehicle is said to have been littered with bullets leading to the deflation of his vehicle’s tyres. Though he was able to escape unhurt, his security personnel were gruesomely killed from the bullets of the suspected kidnappers who set out to abduct him.
Our sources disclosed that residents of the area who scampered for safety expressed grief and shock at the suddenness of the attack with the realisation that the vehicle that had since parked by Water Tanker Junction was bearing heavily armed gunmen.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that after shooting sporadically for minutes, the gunmen dispossessed the slain Police Officers of their arms and sped off through the Warrake part of the road in escape. As at the time of filing this report, the police and army had weighed in to calm frayed nerves as frightened residents were seen discussing in groups. They assured them of security while investigation is ongoing to unravel the personalities behind the incidence with a view to bringing them to justice.
