BLOCKCHAIN.COM has called for greater regulatory alignment in Nigeria’s cryptocurrency market to promote responsible growth and protect consumers.
Speaking in Lagos, the company’s General Manager for Africa, Owenize Odia, said transparency and cooperation with regulators like the SEC are key to building trust in the digital finance ecosystem.
Odia noted that Nigeria remains a strategic market, with Blockchain.com expanding its local team and pursuing licensing to strengthen its long-term presence.
She said the firm, which serves over 93 million global users, is focused on education, compliance, and responsible crypto adoption. Country Head Michael Emeeka added that the goal is to make cryptocurrency more useful for everyday payments and remittances.
