BEDC Explains Reduction In Supply Hours
As Company Says Sapele, Ihovbor Substations’ Maintenance Progressing Well
THE Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) has provided explanations for the reduction in supply hours currently being experienced in its franchise states.
In a “Power Update” signed by the management of BEDC and made available to The Pointer yesterday by Head, Branding and Corporate Communications, BEDC, Mrs. Evelyn Gbiwen, BEDC informed valued customers that “the reduction in supply hours currently being experienced in our franchise states (Delta, Edo, Ekiti and Ondo states) is due to constraints beyond our control, specifically limitations in allocation from the national grid.”
In the Public Announcement, BEDC said “the inconvenience is regretted and we sincerely apologise for any disruption to your daily routines. Please be assured that we are working diligently with all stakeholders to improve the situation and resume regular supply as soon as possible.”
Speaking on the Sapele and Ihovbor Transmission Substation maintenance, BEDC announced: “we also wish to apologise for the delay in meeting the earlier publicized timeline for the maintenance of Sapele Transmission Substation and Ihovbor Transmission Substation. This delay is due to prevailing technical factors.”
It however assured customers that “work on both substations is progressing well. We anticipate completing the maintenance process and restoring full capacity soon”, while adding that, “we appreciate our valued customers for their patience and understanding during this time.”
