Four former operatives of the disbanded Operation Udo Ga-achi security outfit appeared before the Children, Sexual, and Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka, Anambra State, for allegedly assaulting a female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.
The defendants — Emmanuel Samson (29), Jude Obasi (43), Ndudirim Michael (28), and Nweke Ezinwanne (27) — were charged along with Emeka Emetumba, Nwanne Afuonu, and others still at large. The Anambra State Commissioner of Police filed a seven-count charge against them.
According to the charge sheet, the accused allegedly conspired to commit a felony, indecently assaulted a corps member, inflicted physical injuries, and unlawfully stripped her naked. The incident reportedly occurred in Oba, Idemili North Local Government Area.
All four defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following a bail application by the defense counsel, Chief Magistrate U.E. Onochie granted bail to the accused persons and adjourned the case to January 14, 2026, for definite hearing.
