Asagba Prof Azinge Woos Investors As He Tours Companies/Factories In Asaba
INDIVIDUALS and organizations intending to set up businesses have been urged to take advantage of the prevailing conducive environment in Asaba to invest their money.
The Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Prof Epiphany Azinge, SAN OON, FNIALS, made the call during a familiarization tour of some companies operating in Asaba.
Asagba Prof. Azinge said the reign of peace and security in Asaba, made possible by the joint efforts of government, the security agencies and the community, had made the capital city a safe haven for investment, adding that residents had consistently been giving testimonies of blessings in the land of Asaba.
He added that the community would also be willing to make land available to serious minded investors on certain terms and conditions.
At GeePee Industries Limited, the proactive traditional ruler expressed satisfaction with what he saw on ground, saying that he never knew that such a massive factory existed in his kingdom.
He thanked the management of the company for choosing to operate in Asaba, stressing that the gains of its existence in the town, in terms of employment opportunities and contribution to the growth of the local economy, could not be over-emphasized.
The Asagba, who was conducted round the various departments of the factory by the Managing Director, Mr. Mohad, an Indian, however, reminded the company of its Corporate Social Responsibility and the need to provide employment opportunities for youths of the host community, to make its presence more significantly felt.
The First Class King was also at Animal Care Services Konsult, producers of animal feeds, where it was discovered that the company was not in operation, before proceeding to Olite Manufacturing Company, makers of Caretimes haircare and beauty products, located off Achala Ibusa road, Asaba.
The Asagba explained that the visit was to forge a bond of relationship with the company, assess the progress made, have an idea of employment opportunities for Asaba people, among others, which he could not do in the comfort of the palace.
He said he was impressed with the company’s capacity, land expanse, outlay and location, which he noted was strategic with the convergence of production and consumption, considering the market opportunities across the Niger.
Asagba Prof. Azinge described the story of the Managing Director of the company, Deacon John Nwabueze, as inspirational, having started his business in an uncompleted building over two decades ago from where he progressed, adding that he remained a man of vision who had yet to get to his destination.
The Monarch noted with keen interest the Corporate Social Responsibilities the company had espoused, the number of staff, and the MD’s calculating and result-oriented personality, expressing confidence that his vision for the establishment would be fully actualized in the shortest possible time.
Briefing the Asagba after conducting him and his entourage round the factory, the MD/CEO, Deacon John Nwabueze, thanked Asagba Prof. Azinge for the honor done him with the visit, saying that he was highly elated to play host to His Royal Majesty.
Deacon Nwabueze said he started the business in Onitsha before relocating to Asaba in the year 2000 and continued in an uncompleted building, from where the company progressed to its present stage, after surmounting initial challenges, pointing out that they had impacted the community through some Corporate Social Responsibilities, and were working on expanding their operations in no distant future.
