Asagba Of Asaba Pays Historic Visit to Otu-Ogwu Satellite Town
YESTERDAY 22 August, His Majesty congratulated Ogbueshi Love Nwokobia, the Anya Asagba of Otuogwu, Mr. Freeman Ogosi, and the entire Otuogwu residents for the warm reception despite the short notice. He praised the unity and love among them, noting the absence of segregation in their relationship.
The Monarch announced plans to include Otuogwu in various initiatives, such as employment, scholarship, and skill acquisition programs, recognizing the area’s potential as the food basket of the Asaba community. He envisioned a government presence being felt there soon and proposed developing the riverbank as a tourist and resort center, declaring it a “ROYALTY” revenue-generating project for Asaba development.
The Monarch emphasized Jubril Bello’s connection to Asaba, according to him, he was born and raised in Asaba with the slogan from him “Asaba Amaka,” and urged Ogbueshi Love Nwokobia and his team members to consider getting a space in a good location to build a primary school for the children in the area. He appreciated the security efforts in Otuogwu and advised residents to uphold the customs and traditions of the land, fighting against social vices like illicit drugs, cybercrime, and kidnapping. The King also highlighted the need to give homes in Otuogwu a facelift.”
Speaking earlier, Ogbueshi Love Nwokobia, Anya Asagba of Otuogwu, welcomed HRM Asagba Azinge on behalf of the residents, congratulating him on his ascension to the throne. He praised the Monarch’s impactful initiatives across the Asaba Kingdom, describing him as “God-sent”.
Mr. Freeman Ogosi highlighted challenges facing the area, including unemployment and lack of inclusivity, and appealed to Asagba Azinge to help draw the Delta State Government’s attention to issues like erosion control and road construction. He thanked the Monarch for recognizing Otuogwu as a satellite area.
Jubril Bello, an Hausa resident in Otuogwu testified to the blessings he has received in Asaba Kingdom, affirming “Asaba Amaka.”
Mr. Mmadu Peter Chidi on behalf of the community thanked the Monarch and his entourage for the visit, he wished him a long and peaceful reign.
