By PAULINA NZERUBE
THE Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge (SAN), has praised the West African Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (WASPEN) for its efforts to combat hospital malnutrition and raise nutrition awareness nationwide.
He gave the commendation during a visit by WASPEN Founder and President, Dr. Teresa Isichei Pounds, who briefed him on preparations for the 2026 Clinical Nutrition Conference set for 23–26 June at FMC Asaba.
Azinge described WASPEN’s work in hospital nutrition support as timely and crucial, noting that malnutrition among patients remains a serious but under-recognised challenge. He also applauded the organisation’s contributions to the community and the global recognition of Asaba natives.
