Asaba Monarch, NFSS Strengthen Ties On Security

By PAULINA NZERUBE
THE National Forest Security Services (NFSS) has assured the Asaba community of its readiness to support ongoing efforts to curb insecurity in the capital and surrounding areas. The National Deputy Commander of Operations, D.C. Peter Obus, gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Prof. Epiphany C. Azinge (SAN), in his palace.
Obus noted that although the agency faces certain operational challenges—particularly the need to restore its Asaba office—these obstacles are surmountable with community support. He stressed that the NFSS, working in collaboration with other security agencies, has the manpower and capacity to help tackle the security concerns troubling the city.
In his response, the Asagba thanked the NFSS delegation for the visit and acknowledged the nationwide nature of Nigeria’s security challenges. He urged the agency to remain diligent, transparent, and steadfast in its duties.
The monarch further assured Obus that issues concerning the closure of the Asaba office would be addressed promptly. He also commended the NFSS for its often overlooked contributions to national security and reaffirmed the community’s willingness to partner with the agency. According to him, Asaba stands ready to work closely with the NFSS and welcomes the involvement of its indigenes, provided they receive proper training and guidance to strengthen the agency’s operations.
