APC: Subsidy Removal Not Cause Of Hardship, Tinubu Faces No Threats
By NJORIGE LYNUS
THE Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has defended President Bola Tinubu’s removal of fuel subsidy, insisting it is not responsible for Nigeria’s current economic hardship.
APC Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, said the administration inherited a “battered economy on life support” and argued that subsidy removal was necessary to end a system that drained national resources.
“Subsidy was a monumental fraud. Tinubu showed uncommon courage by removing it. The hardship is due to the economy we met, not the reform itself,” Oladejo said.
He urged Nigerians to be patient as the government pursues reforms, adding that history would vindicate Tinubu’s leadership.
Oladejo also dismissed opposition leaders Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar as “expired politicians,” insisting they pose no threat to Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.
“If elections were held today, Tinubu would win big. Nigerians know the difference between empty promises and real action,” he declared.
