ALGERIA LODGES COMPLAINT AS CAF SILENT
A protest has emerged on the eve of the AFCON 2025 quarter-final between Nigeria and Algeria after concerns were raised over ticket sales for the blockbuster encounter in Morocco.
The Algeria Football Federation, led by president Walid Sadi, has lodged an official complaint with CAF following reports that the ticketing platform for the match was abruptly closed. The decision has drawn criticism from Algerian officials, who fear it may disadvantage their supporters.
Sources familiar with the situation said the FAF believes the closure could limit access for Algerian fans and affect attendance balance at the stadium, intensifying concerns over fairness and transparency.
The Nigeria–Algeria showdown is scheduled for Saturday 10 January, in Marrakech and is widely regarded as one of the standout fixtures of the quarter-final stage.
CAF has yet to publicly respond to the protest, but organisers are believed to be assessing the situation to avoid further escalation ahead of the knockout tie.
